East Canyon Marathon – Morgan, UT
This race starts at Big Mountain overlooking Salt Lake City, Utah to the West but heads East to East Canyon Reservior and finishes in Morgan, Utah. Views on this course are spectacular from the high pine trees near Big Mountain Summit to East Canyon Reservior to views of the Morgan Valley with great landscapes and farmlands.
The East Canyon Marathon is a gradual descent to Morgan Valley. About 95% downhill. 2500 feet of decline over 26.2 miles. This race is also a Boston Qualifier. It is also fully supported with eager volunteers and aid stations with cups, hydration, gels and more.
The Full Marathon course is the most scenic at the East Canyon Marathon. Starting on Big Mountain Summit and overlooking Salt Lake City, Utah to the West, this course runs East.. This race descends 2500 feet over 26.2 miles with a view of East Canyon Reservoir and other incredible views of Morgan Valley and finishes at in a new location starting in 2017 at the Morgan County Fairgrounds. This will allow for better parking as well as grass areas for runners to lay down during the awards ceremony.
The Half Marathon course starts near East Canyon Reservoir and heads East to Morgan City, Utah. This course is primarily downhill, with views of East Canyon Reservoir and the Canyon. This canyon has incredible views of red rock formations and more. Morgan Valley also has great farmland landscapes and views of great red barns and fields just prior to harvest time.
The 10K course is an out and back course. It starts at the finish for the Full and Half and runs 3.1 Miles out and back. This course is primarily residential with some rural farm area and extremely flat. Aid stations are placed every 1.5 miles.
The 5K course is an out and back course. It starts at the finish for the Full and Half and runs 1.55 Miles out and back. This course is primarily residential and extremely flat. Aid stations are placed every 1.2 miles.
